Dr. Jyotindra Narayan

Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Patna

Dr. Jyotindra Narayan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Patna. His area of research is Rehabilitation robotics, Human-in-the-Loop control, and Predictive modeling for Healthcare Problems. He is actively engaged in healthcare robotics, control theory, and artificial intelligence and is currently associated with the Department of Computing at Imperial College London (United Kingdom) as an Honorary Research Associate.

 

He completed his PhD in January 2023 from the Mechanical Engineering Department at IIT Guwahati, focusing on designing, developing, and controlling passive-assist and active-assist control schemes for pediatric lower-limb exoskeleton systems. With over 120 publications in reputed journals and conferences, including more than 40 Q1/Q2-indexed journals, Dr. Narayan is an academic editor at PLOS ONE, an associate editor at Measurement and Control Journal (Sage Publications), and a guest editor at the International Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems.

 

He has chaired special sessions at prestigious international conferences such as CoDIT 2023-25 and recently received the S K Mitra Memorial Best Research Paper Award (August 2024) by IETE, recognized by DSIR, Government of India. He has recently co-authored two contributed books, Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems for Healthcare Solutions: From Theory to Practice and Design and Control of Rehabilitation Robots: From Concept to Therapy, published by Springer Nature. Additionally, he is a lead reviewer for top-tier journals from Springer, IEEE, Elsevier, MDPI, and international conferences ICRA 2024 and BioRob 2024.
